Individual membership
Last updated on 25 July 2011
The BTA was founded over 30 years ago by people with tinnitus. Our services are free to all and we rely entirely on membership fees, donations and legacies for our funding. By becoming a member of the BTA you not only help others affected by tinnitus but you also give us the influence to press for better public recognition of tinnitus, more resources for treatment and research into better treatments and improved knowledge about the condition.
As a member, you will receive our quarterly journal Quiet, which will keep you up-to-date with:
- the latest news on tinnitus from the UK and around the world
- research news and trial information
- real life experiences of people living with tinnitus
- information about support groups and contacts
- meetings and events
- plus much more
We appreciate that, whilst keen to support our work, not all members want to receive Quiet and we therefore provide the option to decline it or to have it sent to someone else who may benefit from it.
Membership is £15 per year in the UK or £20 (sterling) overseas. You can join online or, if you prefer you can contact us, by phone, post or email, for a joining form.
As a member you will also receive discounts on items in the BTA shop, discounted rates to attend the BTA's Tinnitus Adviser Training Courses, Annual Conference and other events. These are normally accredited by various organisations and provide professionals with valuable CPD points. Other meetings are also at reduced cost.
We can provide professionals with copies of all our information on CD, ready to print to distribute to patients. Alternatively, bulk copies of our Information Leaflets are available for a nominal charge.
