Eddy's Tinnitus Awareness Week Diary - Day 3, Part 1...

I should have worn my brown trousers today. Actually, I don't have any brown trousers, but am regretting that sartorial chromatic decision now, as I sit on a tube train, heading for Oxford Circus and The Royal College Of Medicine, for their tinnitus-themed all day conference.

I'll be speaking there soon, so, in a nutshell, I will be addressing a room full of people, all of whom are much cleverer than me, about something they probably know a lot more about than I do.

I feel more nervous about these sorts of things than I do about really big gigs. I find that being the centre of attention, in a room, is much more nerve wracking than being in front of, say, 60,000 people at Milton Keynes Bowl before The Prodigy come on. I felt this way the other week when I taught, for the first time at the London Academy Of New Music. Actually just thinking about that is helping me with the brown trouser situation, as I'm reassured by the fact that went really well and I enjoyed it hugely, once I'd got through my first few sentences.

Today I'm talking about tinnitus, specifically MY tinnitus, how I got it, and how I deal with it, and actually, thinking about it, I am the most qualified person in the world to speak about that.

Feeling better already, but mustn't get too cocky, I'll let you know how it went on my way home...

No Problem your gig was brilliant and your attitude motivating so well done, really enjoyed the experience, probably as much as one of your gigs. My last concert was the Stones in Benidorm about 5 years ago before that Queen & Quo at Knebworth about 100 years ago. No wonder we have T. Thanks
