It is mainly aimed at professionals but is understandable by the ‘interested layperson’ who is willing to invest some effort in learning the meanings of terms such as ‘tonotopic’. Reflecting the broad range of specialisations of the authors, it covers both the physical and psychological aspects of tinnitus, and ranges from the prehistoric to the most recent insights.
