Our Staff

The BTA has a small team of seven dedicated staff, with many years experience between them of supporting people with tinnitus.
David Stockdale - CEO
David was appointed Chief Executive of the BTA in February 2010. He is responsible for the day to day running of the charity, and implements the strategy, as set by the Board of Trustees. He sees supporting the tinnitus community, ensuring a preventative message targets those at risk and increasing research into tinnitus as the BTA’s priorities. David has two young children, who take up most of his free time!
Krys Klytta - Events Manager
Krys has worked at the BTA for over 16 years, and is responsible for organising conferences, training courses and a variety of other events, including Tinnitus Awareness Week. Krys also answers the helpline. She has seen the BTA grow from strength to strength over the years and looks forward to seeing the results from all the ongoing tinnitus research in the not too distant future. Krys is married with 2 children and a three year old grandson. Her hobbies include painting, walking in the beautiful Peak District and gardening.
Sue Pickett - Groups Co-ordinator, Administration Officer
Sue has worked at the BTA for 13 years. She is Administration Officer, Groups Co-ordinator and can be found attending awareness events around the country. Sue also answers calls to the Helpline. In her spare time, Sue likes to go on holiday, and enjoys baking, cooking and gardening.
Susie Hornby - Membership Administrator
Susie has a varied and interesting role - opening the post, processing new memberships and renewals, sending out products, co-ordinating penpals, answering email enquires and calls to the helpline. She finds it very rewarding giving advice and pointing people in the right direction to find the help that is available - sometimes showing them there is light at the end of a dark tunnel when their tinnitus is bad. On a personal note, Susie enjoys seeing her grandson (who is 2.5) running around as he keeps her active and cuddling his new baby brother!
Janet Daye - Finance Officer
Janet looks after the finances of the organisation, paying our bills, reconciling payments and administering research grants and bursaries. She also keeps an eye on stock levels for the BTA shop, and deals with our suppliers. Janet also answers calls to the helpline. Janet's hobbies include gardening, reading and walking.
Nic Wray - Communications Manager and Editor, Quiet Magazine
Nic is responsible for the design and production of all the BTA's communications, and for writing the non-medical content in our information leaflets, product catalogues, Quiet magazine and of course, this website! Nic also answers calls to the BTA helpline. In her free time, Nic is studying for a degree (in Literature and Creative Media) and graduates this summer. With what time is left, she'd like to say her hobbies include ironing and housework, but they are in fact knitting, reading and chocolate.
Emily Broomhead - Communications and Media
Emily works on various projects within the BTA, including the administrative work for the James Lind Alliance Tinnitus Priority Setting Partnership. She is heavily involved with Tinnitus Awareness Week 2012 and is currently looking after the Case Studies database. She answers the BTA helpline and has recently attended the Tinnitus Adviser Training course in Nottingham. Emily has worked for the British Tinnitus Association since 1998. She has two daughters, and she enjoys spending time with them both, and her husband, when she is not at work.
