News Hear Us Out! Our new campaign urging people with tinnitus to speak out about the condition, launches on Friday 5 October. The campaign entitled Hear Us Out, is aimed at both the public and importantly, GPs. We often hear from people who have been to see their GP and have been told to "go away and learn to live with it", or "there's nothing that can be done". We want to empower people these people and others with tinnitus to speak out about how it makes them feel and the impact it can have on their lives. In order to help, we've devised a new resource (available at www.tinnitus.org.uk/hearusout from 5 October) which we hope people will take to their GPs, along with our Tinnitus: Guidance for GPs document, to help them support their tinnitus patients better. We know the way a GP speaks to a tinnitus patient can have a long lasting effect, and we hope to make sure that the effect is a positive, rather than negative one. We do understand how busy GPs are, but we hope the resources we have produced will go a long way to supporting them better. Helping reduce appointments and allowing them to access the information, which really could make a difference to those patients they see with tinnitus. How you can get involved! If you would like to get involved, you can sign up and show your support on our Facebook page - or you can email [email protected] and request copies of the Guidance and new resource, which will be sent to you when the campaign launches. You can also keep up-to-date with details and see what's happening on our Twitter feed. For more information, please visit the Hear Us Out page. We do hope you will get involved and support us. The more people who do, the more likely it is that we can make a difference.
