About our work News A Great Big Thank You! As our final blog for the week, I wanted to highlight some of the coverage we have achieved and thank everyone for being involved. TAW2017 has been a huge success, with noticeable input from so many people with their images on social media, case studies and sharing of tinnitus experiences. It has been so fantastic to see so many people get involved in the conversation and everyone has played their part in our quest to raise awareness of the condition and the support that is available. We have been astounded and quite overwhelmed with how well the week has gone. Here are some of the highlights: Great coverage in the Guardian, Daily Mail, Mirror and ITV’s Lorraine Appearances on BBC Breakfast and interviews on Five Live Incredible backing from Dr Sarah Jarvis and Patient.info Reaching and surpassing the 500 people Thunderclap target and getting our message out to over 580,000 people Amazing pics of support from people from all over the country, young and old. Even Ed Miliband holding the Together for Tinnitus card Support from wonderful case studies has made a big difference – those people willing to tell their story of living with tinnitus including Clara, Isobel, George, Kerry, Dave, Ian ,Tim, Sinead and Tom, Lynette, Sarah, Emma and Joy Our tinnitus experts who have given us their time and expertise including Tony Kay, Prof Chris Dowrick, BTA president David Baguley and BTA chief executive David Stockdale. All who have supported TAW and demonstrated that there are professionals out there who make sure the voice of people with tinnitus is heard And the general help from the media, partners and health organisations who have helped to shine a light on this condition. With the creation of our new Tinnitus Guidance for GPs we are going to continue to raise awareness and get these out to as many GPs as possible to help them support people with tinnitus. But the main thing to remember is that although Tinnitus Awareness Week is very important, and highlights the support available, the British Tinnitus Association is here to help all year round, so if you need us, please get in touch. You can access our helpline on 0800 018 0527, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, visit this website and find online help with tinnitus at ww.takeontinnitus.co.uk. And remember we have our prevention campaign Plug’em at www.plugem.co.uk. Thank you all for the amazing support this week, we couldn’t have done it without you.
