The newly formed tinnitus support group in Bury St Edmunds will be holding a Tea for Tinnitus Garden Party in June. As this is a new support group it will be only the third time the group has met.

Jane Frost, the group organiser does not have tinnitus herself, but is learning from the group. There have  been two  speakers to previous meetings so far, both giving very helpful, informative presentations, which has helped Jane to understand and realise the importance of the support group.

Jane told us: "The first group meeting had 52 attenders, which confirmed the need for support in the area. It was rewarding to hear people swapping stories and realising that others felt as they did, over a cuppa".

Some attenders had felt very isolated and alone, and were eager to return to the next support group to talk with understanding people who experienced tinnitus.

The Tea for Tinnitus Garden Party will take place at The Deaf Centre, 28 Northgate Street, Bury St Edmunds. IP33 1HY on Wednesday 20 June from 10.30am.

It is open to all and proceeds will go to the British Tinnitus Association.

Jane said "Folks will be able to relax, chat and enjoy strawberries, scones and cream". There will also be a  representative from Ipswich Hearing Care Centre at the party, who will be able to offer advice and support.
