Self-confessed MAMIL (Middle Aged Man In Lycra) Steven Bevan is taking on the Prudential Ride London 100 mile cycling challenge for the BTA. Here's his story.

"I've always ridden bikes but I think the 'road bike' and MAMIL era started for me once I was too old to play football competitively. It also coincided with Bradley Wiggins winning the Tour de France in 2012. I signed up for the Ride London challenge because I saw the opportunity to raise money for the BTA. Quite frankly, I wouldn't do this ride otherwise as I find the sheer volume of mixed ability riders taking part quite frightening.

My training plans have consisted of a couple of long rides or smaller events in the months prior along with a trip to the alps at the back end of July to tackle Col de la Madeliene, Col Du Galibier and Col Du Telegraphe.

Because it is a charity close to my heart due to being a long time sufferer. I was unaware until the Tinnitus Awareness Week earlier in the year that the BTA even existed and since I now know I would love to help by raising money."
