David Baguley BTA President Expand Professor David Baguley is the President of the BTA. This role involves participating in discussions about the strategic direction of the BTA, and being an ambassador for the BTA, nationally and internationally. Previously it had been held by people with positions in public life, but a professional interaction with tinnitus has more recently been seen as a benefit. Professor Baguley recently co-edited the new Annual Tinnitus Research Review which has been produced by the BTA.”
Jean Scott BTA Vice President Expand Jean Scott is Chairperson of the Irish Tinnitus Association, and lives with tinnitus herself. The Irish Tinnitus Association (ITA) was set up in 1996 and Jean has worked in a voluntary capacity for the ITA for nearly 20 years, taking on most aspects of what it entails to run a charitable organisation in this day and age. Jean lives with her husband, Clive, in Glenageary (near Dun Laoghaire) in Co Dublin and has been married for nearly 45 years. Jean has two daughters, Lynda and Karen and one grandson, Aaron, age 3. Jean is a member of Dun Laoghaire Methodist Church and is involved in various local voluntary activities connected to the Church.
Sandy Grimes BTA Vice President Expand Sandy has been an Audiologist in the NHS over 30 years. She trained as a Hearing Therapist in 2000. Sandy developed Doncaster and Bassettlaw Hospital NHS Foundation Trust’s tinnitus service and has since developed group information sessions for new patients as well as sharing knowledge and experience nationally. Sandy’s main interest is patient centred management of auditory problems including tinnitus and hyperacusis, using a “toolbag” of management styles and options currently available, including CBT skills and mindfulness in relaxation.
