When researchers assess the effect of treatments on patients, they measure 'outcomes'. Different studies can measure different outcomes making it very difficult to compare or combine results. A set of outcomes used in all clinical trials and other research is called a 'core outcome set'.

Adele Horobin from the University of Nottingham will work to give tinnitus patients a voice in deciding what the 'core outcome set' should be for tinnitus research. This will ensure that future research and treatments are measured in a meaningful way to people experiencing tinnitus.
